The Lipscomb Bisons continue to find their share of problems on the road.

Saturday afternoon at John Sessions Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla., they lost 12-2 to Jacksonville in the second game of a three-game Atlantic Sun Conference series. The Bisons also lost to Jacksonville Friday night by a score of 7-6.

Junior right-hander started on the mound for the Bisons. He last 4.1 innings as he scattered eight hits and allowed nine runs, all earned. He walked five and struck out four.

Charles Williams got the call from the bullpen and pitched 1.2 innings. He was touched for five hits and three runs, two earned. He struck out one batter.

Davey Hackett closed out the game for the Bisons, pitching two scoreless innings. He gave up one hit and struck out two.

Jacksonville scored one run in the first, one run in the fourth and 10 runs in the fifth.

The Bisons scored one run in the sixth inning. Justin Sanders singled to center and with two outs Tennyson Dodd hit a single to right to score Sanders.

In the eighth the Bisons added one more run. Clay Lehning, pinch-hitting for Andrew Nickerson, hit a single to right field. That moved Sanders, who had walked, to second. Dodd reached base on a fielder’s choice to load the bases as Lehning and Sanders advanced on a fielding error by Jacksonville’s second baseman. Logan Hostettler hit a sacrifice fly to right field that plated Sanders.

The Bisons had seven hits. Hostettler was credited with two of them, the only Bison to have more than one hit in the game. Hostettler and Allen Bolden each hit a double.

The series finale is Sunday at noon. Senior right-hander Brandon McClurg (3-3, 4.47 ERA) will start for the Bisons.

The Bisons are 16-26, 10-10 in the A-Sun. Jacksonville is 27-12, 16-7 in the conference.
