The Bisons watched a 1-0 lead disappear as Florida Gulf Coast rallied for a 7-1 victory Friday night at Swanson Stadium in Fort Myers, Fla.

In the fourth inning the Bisons scored their only run of the game. With two outs Justin Sanders singled to first base and moved to second on a wild pitch. Andrew Nickerson singled up the middle to bring Sanders home.

Nickerson collected two of the Bisons six hits. Tennyson Dodd had the only extra base hit for the Bisons, a double.

Florida Gulf Coast took the lead for the first time with two runs in the sixth inning and added five in the eighth.

Lipscomb starter Rex Brothers continued his string of hard luck starts. He pitched seven innings, allowing two runs while walking five and striking out nine.

The Bisons bullpen struggled in the game. Matt Bowling gave up two runs. He walked two batters and did not get an out.

Kyle Tognazzini threw two-thirds of an inning. He scattered three hits and three runs, two earned. Martin Grude did not allow a hit or a run as he closed out the game for the Bisons pitching one-third of an inning.

Brothers evened his record at 4-4. Chris Sale, 5-3, picked up the win for Florida Gulf Coast, pitching eight innings. He walked four and struck out eight.

The Atlantic Sun series continues Saturday at 4 with Josh Smith on the mound for the Bisons. Brandon McClurg is expected to start Sunday at 10 a.m.

The Bisons are 15-22 overall, 10-6 in the conference. Florida Gulf Coast is 20-14 overall, 11-5 in the A-Sun,
